Haiku is a poetry book that contains a haiku (a short poem).
The objective of this project was to come up with a concept for a book, fill it with written content, design and animate it.
I wanted to think of a concept that was clever and unqiue (hence the entire book containing a single haiku). Since haikus are of japanese origin, I wanted the design to reflect that. Also, considering haikus are excatly 3 lines long, I wanted to visually represent that on each page.
To represent the japanese calligraphy, I drew all the images in the style of ink brush strokes. I used
the colours red, white and black becasue they are primarily found in japanese calligraphy. To represent
the 3 lines found in haikus, all the graphics are made up of only 3 lines.
